Lukaku shares insights on the discussions that attracted De Bruyne to Napoli
Romelu Lukaku has spoken candidly about the private discussions that influenced Kevin De Bruyne to join Napoli. In an interview with Belgian publication RTBF, the striker described how his compatriot’s decision to leave Manchester City was influenced by a combination of friendship, admiration for coach Antonio Conte, and the lure of Naples.
Prior to the transfer, I had a conversation with Kevin. We discussed the structure that Conte offers, as well as the good life in Naples and the cuisine, of course. Lukaku stated, “Kevin needs that clarity in the game.”
He accepted the challenge even though he is aware of the pressure because the fans want us to win again. It says a lot. He is aware of Conte’s high standards and the fact that we train more than anyone else in Italy. He still desired to participate. That’s unique,” he continued.
