In the forthcoming Tanzanian General Election, Tanzanian musician Rajab Abdul Kahali, better known by his stage name Harmonize, has formally announced his plan to run for the Tandahimba Member of Parliament seat.

The award-winning artist shared his political aspirations on Instagram, saying he is now prepared to help the people of Tandahimba. Years after the late President John Pombe Magufuli openly supported him for the same position, he made his statement.

“Tandahimba MP, I’m ready now. Please give me a masilahi mapana. Rais wa awamu ya tano, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, rest in peace. Post harmony.

The “Kwangwaru” hitmaker continued to consider Magufuli’s foretelling support, stating that the moment is ripe for him to follow his dream because the current administration, led by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has carried out the late president’s development plan.

“If we were to have a wako utakuwa na faraja sana… It is ametekeleza to mipango na miradi yenu yooooote na mingine mingi ndani ya muda mchache, Rais Samia Suluhu Hassan. He went on, “We are celebrating October Tuna ✔ chama changu cha Mapinduzi @ccmtanzania kikinipa ridhaa nipo tayari kuikamilisha hii ndoto yako.”

The late President Magufuli publicly praised Harmonize for his work ethic and urged him to think about a career in politics back in 2020, during a rally for his second term in power.

Harmonize, Lakini nampongeza sana. Jimbo gani huyu sijui anatoka? Tandahimba? Kule ni nani mbunge wa? Mbunge wa Tandahimba akawe ningetamani kweli Harmonize aende akagombee kule. To an applauding audience, Magufuli declared, “Kijana ana bidii nzuri sana.”

Harmonize had received an invitation to perform at a state event marking 20 years since the death of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, Tanzania’s founding father, at that time.

His special remix of his hit song “Kwangwaru,” retitled “Magufuli,” which honored the late leader and highlighted significant accomplishments of his presidency, impressed the President and guests.

Awaiting formal approval, Harmonize is anticipated to run under the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party as he aims for Parliament.
