Netanyahu claims that while regime change in Iran is not Israel’s objective, it is a potential result
Netanyahu claims that while changing the Iranian regime is not Israel’s objective, it may be the result of continuing military operations.
According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, regime change in Iran may result from continuing hostilities even though it is not the stated goal of Israel’s military actions. His remarks coincide with heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, where there is a heated air war between the two nations and growing conjecture about possible US intervention.
“The Iranian people are primarily concerned with the issue of regime change or the overthrow of this regime. Netanyahu stated in an interview with Israel’s Kan public television on Thursday that there is no alternative to this. I didn’t offer it as a goal because of this. Although it’s not a declared or official objective of ours, it might be the outcome.
Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s military might, claiming that the nation has the capacity to destroy all of Iran’s nuclear installations, with or without US support. He said this prior to the White House announcing that President Donald Trump would decide whether or not to send the United States into the war in the next two weeks.
The Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, a well guarded complex located beneath a mountain close to the Iranian city of Qom, is one of the most dangerous targets. According to military analysts, bunker-busting weapons supplied by the US would be required to totally demolish the location.
Netanyahu assertively said, “We have the power to remove all our targets, all their nuclear facilities,” in response to a question about whether Israel could attack Fordow on its own. However, the president has the final say over whether or not to join. I will act in the best interests of the State of Israel, and he will act in the best interests of the United States.
“Up to this moment, everyone is doing their part,” Netanyahu added, praising the current state of ally collaboration.
Although he expressed hesitancy to take unilateral action, President Trump recognized that the US is capable of destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities, including Fordow. Trump stated on Wednesday, “That doesn’t mean I’m going to do it — at all.”
