Mac Allister and Salah of Liverpool are two of the six PFA Players’ Player of the Year nominees

Mohamed Salah, the top scorer in the Premier League season 2024–25, and Alexis Mac Allister, a teammate from Liverpool, have been nominated for the Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player of the Year award.

PFA stated in a social media post on Friday that the other four players who were chosen by their peers to be on the list were Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Declan Rice of Arsenal, and Cole Palmer of Chelsea.

Salah tied the record of 47 goal involvements in a Premier League season with 29 goals and 18 assists, joining Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, who accomplished the feat when each team played 42 games during a campaign (which was lowered to 38 from 1995–96).

The Egypt international was instrumental in Liverpool’s league victory, which saw them finish ten points ahead of Arsenal in second place.

Isak led Newcastle’s attempts to finish in the top five and earn a spot in the Champions League, finishing second in the scoring statistics with 23 goals. Palmer helped Chelsea finish fourth with 15 goals and 8 assists.

On August 19, a gala in Manchester will honor this year’s PFA award winners.
