Lewis Hamilton Talks About His Experience Co-Producing the Star-Studded “F1” Film
The seven-time Formula One champion co-produced the new motorsport film, and Lewis has stated that he enjoyed the process.
“I love the way it all turned out,” he said to Extra.
We’ve been working on it for about four years, so it’s been a really lengthy journey.
“From the initial treatment to writing the screenplay to developing the characters to watching the various videotapes of the actors performing their parts, I have never been involved in the entire filmmaking process.”
Brad Pitt, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, and Damson Idris are among the actors who star in the motorsport film. Lewis also acknowledges that he enjoyed collaborating with the cast and crew of the movie.
According to the athlete, “We really brought on the best cast.” The actors have been amazing. I’m really appreciative of the background team who helped make this film what it is today.
During the filming process, Lewis, 40, even had the opportunity to take Brad on a racetrack. Furthermore, the former world champion enjoyed spending time with Brad.
He revealed: “A few years ago, I had the opportunity to take Brad out on a track for the first time, and I said, ‘Show me what you can do.'” I could see right away that he was already somewhat of a racing driver as he took me on a lap. I had no fear for him.
On a racetrack, however, Damson felt much less at ease.
Lewis remembered: “I was a little afraid, because I don’t believe Damson watched a lot as a child. For example, Black households do not watch racing as children. He was thrown in the deep end, I believe, but he did a fantastic job.
As a co-producer, Lewis enjoyed his work on the film. The legendary figure in motorsport isn’t sure if he would want to be photographed someday, though.
Lewis said, “I don’t know,” when asked if he had any aspirations to pursue acting. I have truly enjoyed working on the background production for this one, but you never know.
