Beyoncé Invites Miley Cyrus to Paris’s II Most Wanted
Beyoncé praised Miley Cyrus as a “icon” prior to their unexpected Paris duet.
Fans who attended the Grammy winner’s Cowboy Carter Tour show at the Stade de France on Thursday, June 25, were treated to a unique experience as she and Miley performed their collaboration, II Most Wanted from Cowboy Carter.
Before Miley emerged from beneath the platform, Beyoncé exclaimed, “I wanted to do something really special for you guys, which is why I’m so excited.”
Please shout as loudly as you can because I couldn’t have done it without the assistance of this young woman. I want you everyone to have this icon.
“Your biggest admirer is me. It was such a pleasure to watch and sing with you, Miss Miley Cyrus.
The song was performed live for the first time by the duo.
Miley wrote the song and acknowledged that working with the Crazy in Love hitmaker to record it was a “dream come true.”
She said, “I wrote that song about two and a half years ago,” to W Magazine. “I love that song so much,” my mother would say every time. I immediately thought of music when Beyoncé contacted me about it since it truly captures our connection.
“We are country; we don’t need to get ‘country,'” I told Beyoncé. We have been rural. You know, I’m from Tennessee, and you’re from Texas, so there will be a lot of us in this song, I added. It was an incredible opportunity to write a song for Beyoncé rather than merely perform it.
The unexpected duet follows Miley’s most recent release of Something Beautiful, a visual album.
