Xavi Simons’ future with RB Leipzig is uncertain
The journey of Xavi Simons at RB Leipzig is rapidly taking a negative turn. The Dutchman was anticipated to be a long-term asset following a stellar debut on loan from PSG, where he recorded 10 goals and 15 assists.
However, his demeanor apparently annoyed colleagues and personnel behind the scenes, as German media called him a “diva.” Leipzig is actively trying to sell Simons after their relationship soured despite great expectations. The original asking price of €100 million has since been dropped to €70 million.
The issue? Major clubs’ interest is waning. Once regarded as top choices, Manchester City and Liverpool have moved on to new objectives. The only team still mentioned is Manchester United, but their lack of European experience lessens the allure. Simons is stuck in a stagnant market despite his determination to play in the Champions League. He might have to remain at Leipzig if no offers come in the near future, which is not something either side appears to want.
