Erdogan and Putin denounce the Israeli strike on Iran and call for an immediate end to hostilities
Erdogan and Putin have denounced Israel’s attack on Iran and called for a quick diplomatic solution and peace to prevent regional instability.
Both Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a statement on Monday calling for an urgent halt to the rising confrontation and denouncing Israel’s recent missile strike on Iran as a “act of force.”
The two leaders voiced their profound concern over the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel over the phone. According to the Kremlin, there are major long-term threats to regional stability from the fighting, which has already claimed a large number of lives.
According to the statement, “the continuous escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, which has already resulted in a significant number of casualties and is fraught with serious long-term consequences for the entire region, has generated the most serious concern from both sides.”
Putin and Erdogan underlined the significance of settling conflicts, particularly those pertaining to Iran’s nuclear program, by political and diplomatic means and demanded an immediate end to hostilities.
The Kremlin stated that “the leaders spoke in favor of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the settlement of contentious issues, including those related to the Iranian nuclear program, exclusively by political and diplomatic means.”
Additionally, the two presidents committed to maintaining close communication throughout the situation, highlighting their mutual goal in halting additional Middle East instability.
