Israel strikes Iran’s military and nuclear facilities in a “major strike”
Israel has carried out killings of senior military leaders and nuclear experts in addition to attacking a number of Iranian military installations and nuclear facilities.
Tehran has threatened a “harsh response” to the attack, raising concerns about a potential regional military clash.
After the incident, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued a warning that Israel will meet a “bitter and painful” end.
“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic will not allow it [Israel] to go unpunished by God’s will,” he declared.
In a prepared statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the strikes early Friday were intended to damage Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear manufacturing facilities.
