Guardiola hopes Rodri will return before the season ends
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, expressed his excitement regarding Rodri’s recuperation and his optimism that the Ballon d’Or winner will return to action before the season ends.
When Rodri damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in September, Guardiola initially declared him out for the season. However, Rodri has recently returned to individual training after setting an early comeback goal for himself following surgery.
After Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle to advance to the FA Cup quarterfinals, Guardiola told reporters, “The fans must know they are not the only ones who are excited.”
“Today, he touched the ball. In the locker room, he felt happier and more self-assured.
“I didn’t anticipate it earlier, but I believe it might happen before the season ends. Perhaps he will assist us in the Premier League, but not even in the Club World Cup.
The manager did, however, state that the team would exercise caution in Rodri’s recuperation.
“A single step at a time.” We don’t have to make foolish choices to return weeks sooner and take a step back. However, it does look good. However, I don’t think he’s going to return anytime soon,” Guardiola stated.
