Diddy is sued by the co-founder of Bad Boy Entertainment
Sean “Diddy” Combs’s former business partner is suing him.
Kirk Burrowes, his co-founder of Bad Boy Entertainment, has accused the 55-year-old rapper of fostering a highly toxic and manipulative workplace that is full of sexual harassment, aggression, and “forced compliance with degrading sexual acts.” The rapper is currently in jail awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Kirk claimed in an 18-page complaint that was obtained by Rolling Stone magazine that the “I’ll Be Missing You” hitmaker had harassed him with unwanted sexual advances, sexual assault, and acts of sexual exhibitionism, including nudity, while they were starting the label. Kirk also claimed that the harassment progressed to physical violence, blackmail, and extortion.
Forcing him to witness the rapper “engaging in sexual acts with employees, interns, prospective artists, and third parties” at their Manhattan office, the businessman accused his erstwhile friend of repeatedly groping his crotch and buttocks.
In order to break Diddy down and establish his subjection, he stated he would be called on the office intercom for a specific purpose and then walk in on him receiving sexual favors.
According to the lawsuit, Kirk was physically restrained by the rapper of “It’s All About the Benjamins” in 1995 in an apartment, “preventing him from leaving by removing his keys, pinning him down onto a bed, and simulating intercourse until he ejaculated.” The musician also allegedly set up a meeting in his suite during a business trip that year, only to greet his business partner naked and “demand that he watch as he masturbated.”
In 1996, the complainant claims that Diddy broke into his office brandishing a baseball bat and had him sign over his 25% ownership in Bad Boy Entertainment “or face violent repercussions,” putting an end to the alleged abuse and intimidation.
Additionally, he said that the rapper later ruined his career.
According to the lawsuit, “Commons used his influence to ensure that no major record labels or management firms would hire him, forcing plaintiff into economic instability in 2006,” according to several reports.
In 2023, Kirk filed a lawsuit against Diddy for the baseball bat incident, but his allegations were rejected since they were past the statute of limitations.
The Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act, which established a two-year lookback window in 2022 that permits people to file civil lawsuits even if their claims have passed the seven-year statute of limitations, was cited by him in his latest lawsuit. With the window closing on Saturday, Diddy was the target of numerous lawsuits, more than a dozen of which were filed on Friday.
The accusations have been refuted by Diddy’s legal team.
According to a statement they released, “Kirk Burrowes’ most recent lawsuit, which was brought by Tyrone Blackburn, is just another pointless attempt to re-litigate claims that have been dismissed from court time and time again over the last 30 years.”
“Burrowes and Blackburn are determined to waste the court’s time and resources by refiling dismissed claims despite numerous dismissals.”
