Amrouche, a former coach for Tanzania and Kenya, has been hired to head Rwanda
Adel Amrouche, a seasoned strategist, has been named head coach of the Rwandan national team, Amavubi.
The news was issued on Sunday by FERWAFA, the Rwandan football organization. Work with Amavubi is anticipated to begin right away for the Algerian-Belgian who led Tanzania to the 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
When Rwanda hosts Nigeria in a FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier in Kigali, he is anticipated to be in command.
Torsten Spittler Frank, a German tactician whose contract was not renewed late last year, is replaced by Amrouche, who also has a UEFA trainer’s license. Former Rwandan captain Eric Nshimiyimana and Dr. Carolin Braun, the second assistant coach, will support him.
Amrouche, 56, has managed teams from Burundi, Botswana, Libya, and Kenya, among other African nations. In the past, he has managed the Yemeni national team as well as other Premier League teams in Belgium and Africa.
