Morocco announces the first case of Mpox

Morocco’s first case of Mpox was confirmed by the health ministry on Thursday, affecting a man in Marrakech.

After the novel variant was discovered, the World Health Organization deemed the current disease outbreak to be a public health emergency of worldwide concern.

The viral infection type that was detected was not mentioned by the ministry, nor did it provide any information on the case.

His condition is stable, it stated, and there were no symptoms in his contacts.
