IRS auctions off luxury cars seized from rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine

Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine will not be able to reclaim the luxury cars that were seized by the IRS.

The musician had a few of his cars taken from his Lake Worth home in Florida earlier this year by a government agency. Those cars have now been sold at auction, generating over a quarter of a million dollars to settle his debts.

Tekashi was previously taken into custody earlier this year due to a regrettable incident of domestic violence with his girlfriend.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s cars were sold at an auction for over $250,000.

According to TMZ, the luxury cars seized from Tekashi have been auctioned off by the IRS to help settle the rapper’s debts.

One of the confiscated vehicles was a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, boasting 49,294 miles on the odometer and featuring a sleek black leather interior along with TV screens embedded in the headrests. The vehicle was purchased for $175,043 by an undisclosed bidder.

Yet another high-end vehicle seized was a 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which was sold at a discounted price of $85,500 and had a mileage of just under 40,000 miles.

The vehicles were customized with a unique rainbow paint splatter wrap, giving them a personalized touch from the moment Tekashi bought them.

It is uncertain whether the auction included any additional vehicles owned by the rapper. In addition, it is still uncertain whether the total proceeds of $260,543 from the car sale will be enough to cover the rapper’s remaining debt.

The IRS conducted a raid on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s home several months ago.

In April, personnel from the IRS stormed Tekashi’s house in Lake Worth, Florida, according to TMZ.

In addition to the vehicles, the IRS agents also confiscated several other items during the raid. However, it remains uncertain if these items have been auctioned off.

During the incident, officers from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office accompanied an IRS agent to maintain a peaceful situation.

This precaution appeared unnecessary since the rapper was not present at home. There are reports suggesting that Tekashi was in the Dominican Republic during that period, after being arrested on charges related to domestic violence.

After the raid, Tekashi’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, stated that they are currently evaluating the situation and will provide a statement when the time is right.

Why the IRS Seized the Rapper’s Properties

Although Tekashi has not publicly commented on the matter, there has been speculation that the vehicles and other properties seized may be linked to the rapper’s alleged tax debt default.

It seems that he did not take any action to retrieve them when the seizure happened, as the cars were eventually sold. He had several options to choose from in order to fulfill his financial obligations, as outlined by the IRS. These included paying off the amount owed, entering into an installment agreement, or exploring other available methods.

As per the IRS regulation, it was necessary for them to have given Tekashi “the notice of sale and inform the public about the upcoming sale, typically through local newspapers or flyers displayed in public areas.”

The rapper was given the opportunity to inquire about the “minimum bid price” established by the agency for the vehicles, although it remains uncertain whether he availed himself of this opportunity.

The rapper has a history of being involved in domestic violence incidents.

The search of the rapper’s residence followed his arrest in January for assaulting his girlfriend, reggaeton artist Yailin la Más Viral, also known as Jeorjina Guillermo-Diaz. Yailín faced arrest for her involvement in the incident, but she was later released when Tekashi paid her bail.

Nevertheless, Tekashi was held in prison until his hearing a few days later, according to the New York Post.

In the end, the “Fefe” crooner was required to submit a $510 deposit, participate in a counseling program mandated by the government, and provide regular updates to authorities every two months until the investigation is finished.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has had previous encounters with law enforcement.

In the past, Tekashi has faced various legal issues, including charges related to racketeering, weapons, and drugs.

Back then, the prosecutors reached an agreement with him, and he admitted guilt to a portion of the charges, resulting in a one-year prison term.

As a result of various legal issues and controversies, Tekashi’s rap career has been significantly hindered and impacted.
