White House Reacts to Alan Ritchson’s Statement That Trump Should “Go To Jail” Regarding the Epstein Files
The White House stands by Donald Trump following Alan Ritchson’s call for the release of Epstein files and his assertion that the president should face incarceration.
The White House has issued a response following actor Alan Ritchson’s criticism of President Donald Trump, which he expressed while calling for the complete release of the Jeffrey Epstein files during a recent podcast appearance.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly on Friday, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson reaffirmed the administration’s stance, asserting that Trump has been “totally exonerated” in matters concerning Epstein.
“As President Trump has stated, he has been completely cleared of any involvement with Epstein,” Jackson remarked. She noted that Trump has made available thousands of pages of documents, complied with a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee, endorsed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and advocated for additional investigations into Epstein’s associates, contending that the administration has provided more support for Epstein’s victims than any prior administration.
Jackson also criticized Democratic leaders, including Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett, asserting that they have not clarified their purported interactions with Epstein following his conviction as a sex offender.
Despite Trump’s repeated claims of exoneration, no court has officially made such a determination. His name is mentioned several times in documents pertaining to the Epstein investigation; however, being included in these files does not, on its own, indicate any wrongdoing. Trump has repeatedly refuted any allegations of criminal wrongdoing related to Epstein.
Ritchson made the comments while appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, following host Dax Shepard’s suggestion that he should “let some of that stuff go.”
The actor dismissed the notion, voicing his irritation regarding what he characterized as a deficiency of accountability in the Epstein investigation. He consistently called for the full disclosure of the Epstein files and insisted on holding anyone involved in criminal activities accountable.
Without directly naming the former president, Ritchson later seemed to allude to him, stating, “Go to jail.” “Go to jail,” as he critiques those he thinks ought to face consequences.
The remarks follow a judge’s dismissal of Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal regarding its article on an alleged birthday letter to Epstein. Trump has refuted claims of authorship of the letter, upholds his innocence concerning any ties to Epstein’s offenses, and has subsequently submitted a revised version of the lawsuit.
