Contestant on Love Island USA Says Sorry After Being Taken Down for Racist Posts

Alannah Keyser has issued an apology following her departure from Love Island USA due to the resurfacing of social media posts that included a racial slur.

Alannah Keyser, a contestant on Love Island USA, has issued an apology following her departure from the reality show after old social media posts emerged that seemed to depict her using a racial slur.

Keyser was the second contestant eliminated from the current season due to previous racist language, following the emergence of videos and screenshots from a private social media account shortly after her arrival in the villa. The posts were reportedly not discovered during Peacock’s vetting process, as they were not available to the public.

Discussing the debate in a TikTok video. “I apologize to anyone who has viewed that video and felt offended by it.” “That was never my aim.”

She mentioned that the footage was captured six years prior and no longer represented her true self. “The video is from six years ago, and that term is simply not part of my vocabulary anymore.”

The reality TV contestant firmly denied allegations of holding racist views, asserting that the resurfaced material does not reflect her true character. “What has been shared does not represent the truth, and it has never been in my nature to discriminate against anyone based on their skin color.” I want to be clear that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have.

Keyser made a brief appearance in the villa during the Casa Amor twist, but soon after, the program’s narrator declared, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”

Her departure followed the emergence of videos that reportedly depicted her lip-syncing the n-word in a song, alongside screenshots that seemed to reveal her using the same racial slur in an Instagram comment and a Snapchat message.

The incident signifies the second removal of a contestant for using racist language this season. Previously, Vasana Montgomery left the program after videos emerged revealing her use of the same slur.

In an Instagram statement after her departure, Montgomery stated. In those videos, I employed a racial slur. There is absolutely no justification for it, and I sincerely apologize.

“I feel a sense of shame and regret regarding my words.” I accept complete accountability for my words and recognize the pain and distress they have caused others.

The recent controversy echoes past incidents from the previous season, when contestants Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega exited the show after historic videos featuring racist slurs emerged online, subsequently leading them to issue public apologies.
