Nicki Minaj’s $10 million lawsuit ends without a settlement after a former fan drops the case

Nicki Minaj’s $10 million lawsuit against Tameer Peak, a former fan, is over, but there wasn’t a big fight in court. After saying that his only goal was to have his complaints heard, Peak decided to leave.

TMZ says Peak decided to drop his lawsuit against Minaj for defamation and emotional distress. This ended the case in which Peak said Minaj slandered him online. Peak said that Nicki called him a “stalker” and said that he was “one sandwich short of a picnic.”

Karmelo Anthony’s arrest bodycam footage was made public after he was found guilty in the death of Austin Metcalf.
The case had been going on for more than a year and got even messier when Nicki had trouble finding a lawyer. TMZ reported earlier this year that lawyer Matthew Abbott asked to leave the case because of a “communication breakdown.” According to court documents, Abbott had trouble getting in touch with Nicki and her team after Judd Burstein, her longtime lawyer, quit defending her in the case.

Nicki said the case should be thrown out because it was brought after the deadline and Peak couldn’t show the statements were specifically about him, according to new court documents.

Peak later sent a letter saying he wasn’t going to fight Nicki’s desire to be fired. He stated that his “main goal” in bringing the lawsuit was to officially “challenge behavior he believed to be improper and to have his grievances heard through the judicial process. “Peak also said he would rather not continue the case anymore because he felt like he had reached his goal.

The fight began with a different federal case Peak brought in New Jersey in 2024 against Nicki, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty; Pink Personality Inc.; and Pedro Velazquez. Peak said in the complaint that he had been a “loyal” Nicki fan and supporter since 2009 and had spent “tens of thousands of dollars” on her business. In August 2025, a federal judge threw out the case without prejudice because the court did not have personal authority over the defendants who were moving.

Nicki now has one less legal problem to deal with as she continues to work under one of the biggest rap names. Her years with “Pink Friday 2” were very successful in the music business. The album’s debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 made her the female rapper with the most number-one records in history.

The $10 million fight is over for now, and the last twist is that Peak seems to be leaving court not with money, but with the chance to say he made his point.
