Meta adds an AI mode and new Facebook tools to improve search, creativity, and photo editing for everyone
Meta has added an AI mode and editing tools to Facebook to make searching, being creative, and sharing photos better.
Meta, a global tech company, said in a blog post on Monday that it had added a new set of AI-powered features to Facebook to help users find answers faster, make content that people will want to share, and change photos more easily.
The main part of the rollout is “AI Mode,” a new way to find information that is powered by Meta AI and built on the company’s Muse Spark technology. Meta said the feature is meant to go beyond regular search results by using what people share freely on its platforms, like Groups and Reels, to find answers that are more relevant to the user’s experience.
Meta claims that AI Mode aims to create a more conversational search experience, grounded in genuine user perspectives rather than generic listings. It also works with Facebook’s existing features, so users can get help while they’re looking through their Feed or digging deeper into the material.
The goal of the new rollout, according to Meta, is to make it easier for users to interact with material and make media. The company said, “Today we’re rolling out new features on Facebook that will help you find answers to your questions, make fun photos and videos, and use AI to make things happen.”
Meta also said that the tools are made to make everyday chores faster and easier. It also said, “They can help you get more done with less work, whether that’s getting real answers from real people, making content that’s ready to share, or expanding on a quick idea.”
The company said that adding AI Mode to the platform was a natural extension of how Facebook users already use the site.
Meta said, “It’s another way that Meta AI from Muse Spark is showing up for you in the things you already do.”
It also stressed that the assistant is meant to be available at all times and for all of the user’s tasks.
“Meta AI is right there, ready to help, whether you’re searching or going deeper into content,” the company said.
Meta is also adding new editing tools driven by AI to its camera roll sharing feature. Some of these are collage shape templates for recent hangouts with friends and new transition effects that let users make video montages that look smoother and more stylish.
The company said that the goal is to help users find intriguing material that they might not have seen otherwise.
It’s possible for your favorite photos to get lost, or you might not have time to make something unique. The company said in a Monday post, “With just a tap, make videos and collages that stand out and that you’ll want to share.”
Meta made it clear that these sharing ideas are optional and can be turned off at any time.
The update also adds AI-powered photo presets that let users change how they look in pictures by adding or removing accessories, clothes, or hairstyles. Users can virtually try on things like sports clothing thanks to one of the features.
The tool can be accessed by clicking on the AI Edit icon in Stories and then choosing “Wear It.” Alternatively, users can click on their profile picture and then select “Restyle profile picture with AI” and then “Wardrobe.”
Meta has slowly been adding more AI features to all of its platforms over the past few years as part of a larger effort to change how people around the world make and consume content.
It was reported in August 2025 that Meta had released an AI translation tool that could automatically dub and lip-sync Reels into various languages. This would help creators get their work seen by more people who don’t speak the same language.
The company says that the system does more than just translate words; it copies the tone and style of the creator’s voice and syncs lip movements with the translated audio.
