Trump threatens new strikes on Iran, pledging US control over vital oil infrastructure

Trump cautions about significant military actions against Iran and promises future American oversight of key oil installations.

US President Donald Trump has issued a warning of new military action against Iran, stating that the United States would strike the country “VERY HARD TONIGHT” as tensions between Washington and Tehran escalate.

On Thursday, Trump posted on Truth Social, asserting that Iran’s military capabilities had been significantly diminished and announced that the United States was gearing up for another series of attacks.

“The United States will be striking Iran (whose navy, air force, radar, anti-aircraft, and all other forms of defense, along with most of its offensive capability, are nonexistent!) with significant force tonight,” Trump wrote.

Trump also stated that the United States would aim to gain control over Iran’s essential energy infrastructure, including Kharg Island, which serves as the country’s primary oil export hub.

“At some point in the near future, we will be taking Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points, assuming total control of their oil and gas markets, similar to our approach with Venezuela, which has proven to be beneficial for both Venezuela and the United States of America,” he stated.

Kharg Island is considered Iran’s most significant oil export terminal and holds a crucial position in the nation’s energy sector. Analysts indicate that any effort to control or interfere with the facility could significantly impact global oil supplies and regional security.
