Manchester City has submitted a record-breaking bid for Nottingham Forest’s midfielder Elliot Anderson

Manchester City has made a British-record bid for Elliot Anderson, while Nottingham Forest has set the midfielder’s valuation at £120 million.

Manchester City have submitted a record-breaking bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, as reported by sources.

The verbal offer from the City is reported to be valued at £106 million ($142 million), with possible performance-related bonuses that could increase the total to over £120 million ($161 million). Sources indicated that Forest values Anderson at £120 million prior to bonuses.

The 23-year-old is attracting interest from Manchester United, while City is monitoring Sandro Tonali’s situation at Newcastle United in case a transfer for Anderson fails to materialize.

Forest has already rejected an earlier bid of approximately £85 million from City. The most recent proposal would exceed the existing British-record fee of £105 million that Arsenal paid to West Ham United for Declan Rice in 2023.

The current record transfer between British clubs is Alexander Isak’s £125 million move from Newcastle United to Liverpool.

City believes that Anderson is eager to transfer to the Etihad Stadium after demonstrating his talent during two successful seasons at Nottingham Forest, following his move from Newcastle in 2024. He is contracted at the City Ground until 2029.

City’s primary focus this summer has shifted to strengthening the midfield after Bernardo Silva’s departure on a free transfer.
