12 hurt in Ohio festival shooting as police look for suspects

Twelve people are shot near an Ohio festival, leaving two seriously injured. Police begin a manhunt.

A shooting near a community fair in Toledo, Ohio, USA, injured at least 12 people. The incident led to a large police search for the people who did this.

The shooting happened on Saturday night near the Old West End Festival, which is a famous event that draws thousands of people every year for food, live music, shopping, and cultural activities.

The Toledo Police Department reports that 10 of the victims are in stable condition, while 2 remain in critical condition. The hurt people are between the ages of 16 and 61.

Police reported receiving calls about gunshots at approximately 5:37 p.m. local time. They think at least two people fired guns at each other before running away.

Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan said that early investigations show the suspects may have been shooting at each other, but no one has been arrested yet.

Police have blocked off some areas of Delaware Avenue and Robinwood Avenue. These streets are close to a part of the event where food and music were being served.

Social media featured a video that appeared to capture individuals fleeing for safety amidst the sound of multiple gunshots. Other videos depicted injured individuals receiving medical assistance at the scene.

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz stated that everyone who sustained injuries was likely to survive. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine condemned the violence and said he was worried about what happened.
