Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 144,049 vehicles in the US due to a display issue; dealers will provide a complimentary update to the infotainment software.

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 144,049 vehicles in the United States due to concerns regarding failures in the instrument panel display, as reported by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Friday.

The recall pertains to specific vehicles from the 2024–2026 model years, which include the AMG GT, C-Class, E-Class, SL, CLE, and GLC.

The regulator has indicated that the problem originates from the infotainment control unit, which could experience a malfunction while the vehicle is in motion.

“The infotainment control unit, responsible for navigation and multimedia features, may reset while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in the instrument panel display going blank,” the regulator stated.

The NHTSA noted that the issue may impact the driver’s ability to see essential information shown on the dashboard.

The automaker has proposed a corrective measure to rectify the defect, ensuring that owners will incur no expenses.

“Dealers will update the infotainment control unit software free of charge,” NHTSA added.
