Sinbad Returns to the Mic Following Stroke Recovery and He’s Already Throwing Shade
The comedy icon makes his triumphant return to the stage, accompanied by his daughter Paige, creating a heartfelt full-circle family moment.
The stage lights have returned for Sinbad, and this time the comeback holds significant importance. After more than five years following a stroke, the comedy icon has announced his return to stand-up, marking his first live shows since 2020. Sinbad is scheduled to take the stage at the Ice House in Pasadena, California, signifying a significant achievement in his recovery journey.
In a video posted online, the 69-year-old candidly discussed his past experiences and future plans. “I am unable to walk.” Since the stroke in 2020, I have not performed on stage. I will be performing at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena, California, on April 29 and May 10. “This is merely the start of my return,” he stated.
And if you’re familiar with Sinbad, you understand he wasn’t going to make a quiet return.
“I am eagerly anticipating these shows.” I have a lot to discuss. I will be expressing more bold opinions than ever before. Even after years of recovery, the timing evidently remained with him.
To enhance the occasion, his daughter Paige will be the one to open the shows. Sinbad quipped, “I’m eager for this because she throws more shade than I do.” An evening that combines a family legacy with a roast session.
He took a moment to express his gratitude to those who consistently supported him. “I appreciate all the prayers that have been offered on my behalf.” It was successful.
Paige later referred to the night as something she would “ALWAYS cherish,” highlighting that many comedy clubs were not accessible for her father throughout her own career journey. This reality made the return feel even more impactful.
Sinbad has recently returned to acting, but this comeback to the stage feels distinct. For those who have cherished his films, television performances, and iconic stand-up charisma, the message is clear: he’s far from finished.
