Future Seeks Contempt Charges Against Ex Brittni Mealy — Claims She Disclosed Court Information in $500K Insurance Dispute

Future has returned to court, this time alleging that ex Brittni Mealy has breached orders in their ongoing custody and support conflict regarding their son, Prince.

Recently, a new development emerged as Mealy submitted a petition in Fulton County Superior Court last month, alleging that Future breached a 2023 court order related to financial safeguards for their 13-year-old child. She asserts that the artist did not obtain a $500,000 life insurance policy with Prince named as the beneficiary by the stipulated deadline. Mealy has reportedly requested that the court find him in contempt and imprison him until he adheres to the requirements.

Her filing indicated, “More than eighteen (18) months have elapsed since the compliance deadline. Despite numerous written requests made over several months, [Future] has failed to comply.

The future is strongly countering those assertions. As reported by TMZ, he has now submitted his petition asking the court to determine that Mealy is in both civil and criminal contempt. He claims that she breached current court orders and is additionally requesting that she cover his legal expenses. Future alleges that Mealy disclosed confidential information regarding their private case to the media.

Mealy has refuted those allegations.

Future is currently managing more than just this courtroom issue. Earlier this month, another former partner, Layla Sanad, initiated a separate case to establish paternity concerning a child she claims was born in 2017. She is requesting child support along with two years of retroactive payments.

Future has reportedly requested the dismissal of the Florida case in favor of a “more convenient forum.” He contended that Sanad and the child reside in Arizona and mentioned that he had already initiated a case there. He further asserted that he had been “voluntarily” remitting $3,500 to Sanad every month.

The rapper continues to navigate ongoing legal issues, such as the case in Arizona regarding Sanad and the child, while facing heightened scrutiny outside of his musical career.
