Trump says that King Charles agrees with him that Iran shouldn’t have nuclear weapons

At a White House state dinner, Trump stated that King Charles is opposed to Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon.

During a state dinner at the White House in honor of the visiting monarch, Donald Trump stated that King Charles III shares his view that Iran must never be permitted to develop a nuclear weapon.

King Charles’ four-day state visit to the United States began on the second day of Trump’s remarks.

During his speech at the dinner, Trump reaffirmed his administration’s stance that Iran must never obtain nuclear capabilities, noting that military actions in the region had already diminished what he referred to as a hostile adversary. He subsequently proposed that King Charles shared a similar viewpoint on the issue, stating that the monarch agreed “even more” emphatically that Iran should not acquire nuclear weapons.

The King refrained from making a public response to the remarks and chose not to address Iran or the nuclear issue in his comments during the event. In his role as constitutional monarch, he refrains from speaking on behalf of the UK government or offering commentary on foreign policy matters.

During the visit, King Charles spoke to the United States Congress, emphasizing the importance of shared democratic values, international collaboration, and backing for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. He warned against isolationism and emphasized the significance of global alliances.

The Iran nuclear program continues to be a significant issue of concern for both Washington and London. Both nations have repeatedly asserted that Iran must not be permitted to develop nuclear weapons. Iran claims that its nuclear activities serve peaceful purposes and comply with its rights under international agreements.
