Spotify Collaborates with Peloton to Introduce New In-App Fitness Hub Offering 1,400 Workout Classes

The music app you rely on is officially making an effort to help you get fit.

Spotify has evolved beyond being merely a platform for your favorite music; it is now setting its sights on becoming your personal trainer.

The streaming powerhouse is shifting its focus towards its “everything app” ambition by introducing a dedicated fitness hub that integrates guided workouts directly into the platform. With millions already depending on the app for workout music, Spotify is now offering the actual exercise content to complement it.

This new expansion brings together instructor-led classes, video sessions, and specialized playlists in a single, centralized location. Members, whether freefree or premium, now have the opportunity to access content from prominent fitness influencers such as Chloe Ting and Yoga with Kassandra, in addition to boutique brands like Sweaty Studio.

A notable advancement is a prominent partnership with Peloton. Premium users in select regions can now stream more than 1,400 on-demand Peloton classes, which include everything from high-intensity cardio to restorative meditation, all within the Spotify interface. This reflects the company’s earlier successful expansions into podcasting and audiobooks by acquiring established industry leaders instead of beginning from scratch.

Spotify reports that approximately 70% of their Premium subscribers participate in monthly exercise, and the platform currently features over 150 million playlists related to fitness. This change effectively formalizes a practice that users have engaged in for years.

Nonetheless, the expansion prompts a discussion regarding “app fatigue.” As the platform keeps adding music, video podcasts, books, and now full-body workouts —to a single feed, the interface may become cluttered. Spotify believes that users value the ease of having a comprehensive lifestyle ecosystem rather than switching between different apps for their running, meditation, and music needs.

Users can discover the new features by easily searching for “fitness” in the app. Whether this initiative becomes a regular part of daily life or just an ignored choice depends on how willing listeners are to swap their separate gym apps for a workout experience centered around Spotify.
