CAF announces a prize pool of $715,000 for the U-17 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the financial incentives for teams participating in the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, with a total prize pool of $715,000 designated for the tournament.

According to the announced structure, the eventual champions will receive $125,000.

The runners-up will be awarded $90,000 for their achievement in reaching the final.

Each semi-finalist that does not advance will receive $60,000, while teams that are eliminated in the quarter-finals are assured $50,000.

CAF has also detailed the payments for teams that were eliminated in the group phase.

Teams that finish third in their groups will earn $25,000, while those that place last in their sections will receive $20,000.

The prize package showcases CAF’s increasing dedication to grassroots and youth football development throughout Africa, offering additional encouragement for the nations involved.

Recognized as one of the continent’s leading youth competitions, the U-17 AFCON remains an essential avenue for uncovering future stars and providing young talents the opportunity to excel on the international stage.
