Anthony Edwards Claims Ayesha Howard is Employing a “Media Campaign” to Secure a $500K Child Support Agreement

The NBA standout alleges that Howard is leveraging the legal system to “publicly humiliate” him while seeking a payout of half a million dollars.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is taking significant legal action to safeguard his reputation in the matter concerning his one-year-old daughter, Aubri.

New legal documents reveal that the 24-year-old athlete suspects influencer Ayesha Howard of deliberately utilizing the press to “manufacture media exposure as leverage against Anthony.”

The legal dispute has escalated into a contentious exchange, with Edwards asserting that Howard has “orchestrated a coordinated media campaign” to pressure him into a settlement that a judge would probably never approve. Edwards’ team contends that Howard’s filings aim to establish a “new focal point for media attention” that reveals his private life and incurs significant legal expenses amounting to hundreds of thousands.

The filing indicates that Howard’s requests exceed typical child support expectations. Edwards claims she is pursuing a $500,000 lump-sum payment, ongoing financial support for life, and a public apology on his social media platforms. His lawyers were forthright, describing the actions as “extortionate” and asserting that she is employing the court process as a “pressure mechanism.”

The “Starting 5” star is also questioning Howard’s residency, claiming she does not reside in California, the state where she filed the case. He thinks she is prolonging the process and avoiding mediation solely to increase his defense expenses until he ultimately concedes to her demands.

The documents assert that the filings, the media campaign, the concurrent proceedings in two states, the refusal to comply with discovery, and the refusal to mediate are all intended to escalate the cost of defense to a point where Anthony will agree to whatever Ayesha demands to bring an end to the situation.

Edwards is now requesting that the court permanently seal the case. He remarked that their daughter is too young to manage her “full name, her health details, and the intimate circumstances of her birth” being spread all over the internet.
