J Martins encourages Peter and Paul Okoye to settle their differences in private

J Martins urges Peter and Paul Okoye to resolve their issues privately in light of the recent tensions surrounding the birthday-change decision.

Nigerian singer J Martins has urged twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye to settle their differences in private, amid new indications of tension between them.

On Tuesday, Martins made the appeal through X, responding to Peter’s recent announcement about changing his birthday from November 18, a date he has celebrated with his twin brother for many years, to November 30. The recent development has captured online interest, prompting inquiries regarding the relationship between the brothers.

“I don’t get why one would change his birthday after so many years, separate from his twin.”

@PeterPsquare, @rudeboypsquare, can we address these issues within our home and avoid bringing shame upon Ndi Igbo nke anyi?

The music star, who has nurtured a lasting relationship with both artists, encouraged them to resolve their differences privately, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding their collective legacy and cultural image.

Peter and Paul Okoye, widely recognized as P-Square, gained fame as one of Africa’s most successful music duos, receiving extensive acclaim throughout the continent prior to their first separation in 2017.

In 2021, the brothers came together after years of separation to hold a comeback concert; however, reports of renewed tensions emerged once more in 2024. At that time, Paul claimed that Peter played a role in his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, while Peter expressed concerns regarding matters related to their previous management, which included financial disputes and disagreements over creative direction.

J Martins, recognized as a longtime friend and collaborator of the duo, is viewed as one of the industry figures with strong connections to both brothers, rendering his public appeal significant amidst ongoing worries about their relationship.

At the time of this report, neither Peter Okoye nor Paul Okoye has made any public comments regarding Martins’ remarks.
