Lookman’s fitness concerns loom ahead of Arsenal clash

Atlético Madrid is in a precarious situation following the confirmation that Ademola Lookman sustained an adductor injury during the Copa del Rey Final, where they lost to Real Sociedad in a penalty shootout.

The Nigerian forward, who found the back of the net, was substituted in the 62nd minute. After the muscle injury, Atletico Madrid’s medical team has assigned him to a personalized recovery program.

Lookman is currently training apart from the team to prevent worsening his injury.

His absence has been confirmed for the upcoming La Liga matches against Elche and Athletic Bilbao, raising significant concerns about his availability for European competition.

This unavailability arises at a particularly challenging moment for Diego Simeone, just before the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Arsenal, set for April 29 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Since signing last January, Lookman has emerged as a pivotal figure in the Madrid attack, contributing 7 goals in 18 matches.
