“Real Housewives of Miami” star Lisa Hochstein is accused of placing a recording device in her ex’s car, with audio capturing her saying “Done”
Lisa Hochstein, a star of “Real Housewives of Miami,” is now confronting a felony charge after authorities allege that she secretly recorded her ex-husband’s private conversations, reportedly even going so far as to plant a hidden device in his vehicle amid their tumultuous separation.
An arrest warrant reveals that Hochstein, 43, is charged with intercepting electronic communications, having reportedly installed a recording device in a vehicle owned by Lenny Hochstein in March 2023. Investigators assert that the device recorded conversations without his awareness or permission, encompassing topics related to their children, finances, and his medical practice.
The warrant indicates that Lenny lent his Mercedes-Benz to Lisa following her expression of interest in buying one. Upon the vehicle’s return days later, he discovered what was referred to as a “hidden recorder” taped beneath the driver’s seat. Following the notification to his attorney, experts are said to have retrieved audio files, which include a moment where Lisa can be heard stating, “Done,” as the device was being set up.
Authorities claim that the recordings went beyond mere casual conversations, with further recovered material comprising deleted files and personal audio. Lenny told investigators that he did not consent to the recording and later handed the device over to law enforcement.
Lisa has now surrendered, secured her release on bond, and pleaded not guilty. Her attorney has responded firmly, asserting, “This matter is part of a contentious divorce proceeding and does not belong in criminal court.”
The case unfolds amidst a prominent divorce that commenced in 2022 following 13 years of marriage. Lisa had earlier asserted that she was experiencing “financial strangulation,” as legal conflicts between the two parties extended into matters of custody, finances, and public accusations. The divorce was officially concluded in November 2024, establishing organized child support payments for their two children. The tumultuous breakup unfolded on “Real Housewives of Miami,” as Lisa confronted her husband over allegations of infidelity on several occasions.
Toward the conclusion of the investigation, authorities connected Lisa’s ex-boyfriend, Jody Glidden, to the case, claiming he had purchased similar recording devices months prior and collaborated with Lisa in positioning the recorder. Glidden was taken into custody just days prior to Lisa and has entered a plea of not guilty, seeking a jury trial.
