Offset’s Dispensary Battery Warrant Discreetly Dismissed Weeks Prior to Florida Shooting

Prior to a shooting in Florida that brought Offset back into the national spotlight, he had already dealt with a legal matter that almost intensified earlier this year.

Court records indicate that in late February, a judge in Los Angeles County dismissed a bench warrant that had been issued following the rapper’s failure to attend a mandatory court appearance. Following his appearance with legal representation, he submitted a not guilty plea, enabling the case to progress without additional issues related to the missed date.

The central charge in this case is a misdemeanor battery allegation that was filed in December 2025. An incident is linked to events that reportedly occurred months prior at a cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles. Although the charge is categorized as a minor criminal offense, the failure to appear at the initial court date momentarily escalated the situation until it was resolved.

Shortly thereafter, a distinct event drew focus away.

Earlier this week, Offset sustained injuries in a shooting incident outside the Hard Rock casino in Florida. He was transported to a hospital and subsequently discharged. Currently, officials have not provided specific details regarding his condition or the events leading up to the shooting.

The closeness of these two events has sparked discussion, yet legally, they operate in distinct realms. The California case is still ongoing and will proceed through the court system after his not guilty plea. At the same time, the Florida shooting is being treated as a separate investigation.

Currently, Offset is managing his recovery while also facing an ongoing court issue, putting him in the midst of two separate circumstances that coincidentally overlap in timing.
