Tragedy in Atlanta: Pregnant Detroit Rapper “Siditty” Fatally Shot in Targeted Attack
Family Remembers Qualeisha Barnes, an Aspiring Nurse and Musician Tragically Found Slain in Her Vehicle
The music communities in both Detroit and Atlanta are grieving following the tragic death of 36-year-old Qualeisha Barnes, recognized by many fans as the rapper “Siditty.”
Barnes, originally from Southwest Detroit, had been residing in Atlanta for the past decade. This week, authorities discovered her shot to death inside her car, revealing the heartbreaking news. At the time of her death, Barnes was 14 weeks pregnant, and her family suspects that her pregnancy was the exact motive behind her targeting.
The incident occurred late at night, approximately at 1:20 a.m., in a neighborhood of Atlanta. Residents reported hearing approximately four or five gunshots before witnessing a car rapidly flee the scene. Upon the arrival of the police, they discovered Barnes unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Authorities indicate that it appears the assailant shot straight through the windshield before fleeing the scene. The Atlanta Police Department is actively reviewing security camera footage in the vicinity to establish a timeline and determine if there were any additional individuals present with her.
In addition to her music career, Barnes was a dedicated student, just a year away from completing her nursing degree. Currently, her family is gathering the fragments and insisting that all parties connected to her death face accountability. Her mother, Lopez-Stewart, emphasized that anyone involved in the setup should face justice, stating, “If you instigate something that leads to a murder, then you need to face consequences.” I believe you should also face jail time.
The police are urging anyone with information to step forward as the investigation progresses. A family is currently mourning the loss of a daughter, a sister, and an unborn child, all of whom had their lives tragically taken in an act of violence that defies reason.
