Marvin Sapp’s new wife addresses rumors regarding the church financing their wedding, stating, “Everybody’s not broke”

LaBoris Cole-Sapp, Marvin Sapp’s wife, publicly clarified the rumors regarding the financing of their recent wedding, affirming that no church funds were utilized for the ceremony.

During the Easter Sunday service, Cole-Sapp addressed online allegations suggesting that the church funded the couple’s extravagant celebration. The comments came after extensive discussions on social media regarding the magnitude of the event and its related expenses.

“The wedding expenses were not covered by the church.” “Everyone, please stop with the falsehoods,” she said while addressing the congregation. She further stood up for her husband’s character, stating, “You don’t take or rob the church.”

The couple exchanged vows on March 20 at The Chosen Vessel Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The ceremony captured attention with its notable features, such as a helicopter entrance, an array of designer gowns, and lavish floral arrangements adorning the sanctuary.

Cole-Sapp revealed that she personally covered the cost of the helicopter entrance, which had become a central topic of online speculation.

“Not everyone is in financial distress, and not everyone requires assistance from the church.” “God has been good, everyone,” she said.

She mentioned that both she and Sapp have income sources beyond their positions in the church.

The wedding was Sapp’s first marriage in 16 years after the passing of his late wife, MaLinda Prince Sapp. The couple had been friends for over ten years before starting a relationship in 2024.

Cole-Sapp’s comments mark the couple’s initial direct response to allegations regarding the funding of their wedding.
