Israel Claims Beirut Attack Resulted in Death of Hezbollah Leader’s Nephew
Israeli military reports that an airstrike in Beirut has resulted in the death of the nephew of Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem.
On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it conducted a targeted strike in the Beirut area, asserting that it had eliminated Ali Yusuf Harshi, identified as the personal secretary and nephew of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem.
The military stated, “The IDF conducted a strike in the Beirut area, resulting in the death of Ali Yusuf Harshi, who was the personal secretary and nephew of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem.”
A correction was subsequently issued to clarify that the individual who was killed was the nephew of Naim Qassem, rather than Naim Qassem himself, as had been implied in earlier reports.
