Detroit Casino Files Lawsuit Against Offset for $100K Over Alleged Default on Gambling Credit Line

Offset is facing challenges beyond recovery this week, as a six-figure casino dispute is now intensifying the pressure behind the scenes.

The Atlanta rapper is presently addressing a $100,000 debt associated with Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel, as indicated by a lawsuit filed against him. The events date back to March 2024, when Offset allegedly established a credit line with the casino to sustain his gambling activities during a visit.

Court documents indicate that the casino subsequently sought to collect the outstanding balance directly from Offset’s account, in accordance with the original terms agreed upon. Nonetheless, the withdrawal reportedly did not succeed because of a lack of funds. Following unsuccessful attempts to contact him, the casino proceeded with legal action, alleging that Offset breached the contract and committed fraud.

Offset’s spokesperson has assured TMZ that they are addressing the matter, stating, “We are working toward a resolution.”

The legal issues arise at a particularly intricate time. Just days prior to the emergence of the lawsuit, Offset was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida after an altercation involving crews associated with him and rapper Lil Tjay. He suffered a leg injury that is not life-threatening and was admitted to the hospital. Lil Tjay was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and was released soon after.

This casino dispute comes on the heels of Offset’s earlier financial difficulties, which included a reported $1.5 million federal tax lien that has since been resolved.

As his team indicates advancements in resolving the debt, the timing introduces an additional complexity to an already challenging period for the rapper, both in terms of finances and health, particularly as he navigates the aftermath of his recent legal issues and ongoing health concerns.
