Iran establishes prerequisites for discussions on enduring peace with the United States, a top official tells Reuters
A senior official from Iran told Reuters on Tuesday that the country has set conditions for talks with the US on a lasting peace. These conditions include an instant end to strikes, guarantees that attacks will not happen again, and payment for damage.
The source said that Tehran doesn’t want a temporary peace deal with the U.S.
He also said that if there were a lasting peace deal, Iran should be able to charge ships different amounts of money to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The amount of money would depend on the type of ship, its cargo, and the weather at the time.
