Terry Crews’ wife expresses her positivity, stating, ‘I feel wonderful,’ as she navigates an 11-year health struggle

Rebecca King-Crews, the longtime partner of Terry Crews, is sharing an important update about her life.

The actor’s wife opened up about her concealed health struggle in two exclusive interviews, disclosing that a newly approved treatment was necessary to restore her lost vitality.

Terry Crews and Rebecca King-Crews have celebrated more than thirty years of marriage, having exchanged vows on July 29, 1989. Since then, they have welcomed four daughters and one son.

On Monday, April 6, the wife of the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor spoke out for the first time regarding her concealed health struggle during her appearance on the “TODAY” show. She disclosed that she received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 2015 following three years of troubling symptoms.

“I feel wonderful,” Rebecca announced during the show, mentioning that she could write her name and dates with her “right hand for the first time in probably three years.” She described that her symptoms started in 2012, presenting as numbness in her left foot during workouts.

The numbness gradually evolved into a limp, as Rebecca’s doctor suspected that she had been pushing her body too hard. However, her personal trainer quickly observed that something was off when Rebecca was unable to swing her left arm as freely as her right, according to NBC News.

Rebecca’s symptoms quickly advanced to tremors, a condition she instantly identified as her “grandmother had tremors.” Regrettably, she was left undiagnosed, as her doctor thought she was experiencing anxiety.

Rebecca sought answers from a neurologist but found none and faced three years of troubling symptoms until a Parkinson’s specialist finally confirmed her diagnosis of the neurodegenerative disorder. Rebecca was engaged in several projects when she received her diagnosis.

She disclosed that she had been engaged in creating a book, an album, and a clothing line, asserting that she occupied herself rather than dwelling on her startling diagnosis. “I believe that you don’t simply give up when faced with a diagnosis,” Rebecca declared.

Rebecca finally glimpsed a ray of hope with the newly approved bilateral focused ultrasound treatment. Last year, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the procedure, which employs a device known as Exablate Neuro to direct ultrasound waves to targeted regions on both sides of the brain.

Thanks to the treatment, Rebecca no longer experiences tremors on her right side, and her balance has greatly improved, enabling her to walk normally once more. Furthermore, she might lessen the number of medications she had been using to manage the neurodegenerative disorder.

Rebecca clarified that she needed to continue taking medication since she had only applied the treatment to her right side, while the tremors on her left side persisted. She was eagerly anticipating the procedure on her other side in September 2026.

Rebecca further explained her experience with Parkinson’s disease during a joint interview with her husband, Terry. The duo shared with PEOPLE how the actor significantly contributed to her recovery while also being a steadfast supporter.

Rebecca disclosed that the incident occurred last year, remembering that she felt as though she “wanted to die” after being unable to sleep for three days. That morning, she knelt beside her bed, praying for a miracle, when Terry entered with uplifting news about the ultrasound treatment.

“I had been exploring and studying this topic for a decade.” Terry remembered, “I told her, ‘Honey, I really think this treatment treatment will help you.’” His thoughts were spot on as the newly approved treatment significantly improved the uncontrollable tremors that Rebecca once experienced.

Terry opened up about the challenges his wife faced with her health, revealing how hard it was to see Rebecca lose her vitality due to the neurodegenerative disorder. He remembered how exhausted she felt due to her condition, emphasizing that they faced the difficult times “together.”

This was not the first instance where their collaboration had helped them navigate a difficult circumstance, as Terry had expressed similar thoughts in 2022. He shared with Entertainment Tonight that he and Rebecca collaborated to assist him in overcoming his addiction to porn.

Terry stated that he and Rebecca had engaged in “a 90-day sex fast,” reflecting on how this time reminded him of his more innocent days. He acknowledged Rebecca for her significant contribution to his recovery, praising her for her non-judgmental attitude towards his porn addiction and for offering her unwavering support and love.
