Manny Pacquiao’s CEO asserts that Floyd Mayweather accepted advance payment and subsequently altered the terms of the fight

The promoter asserts that Mayweather has violated the contract following his signing for a professional match and the acquisition of funds.

The financial landscape regarding the eagerly awaited September clash between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has shifted notably.

Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, states that Mayweather has signed several contracts for a professional fight at the Sphere in Las Vegas and has received substantial advance payments related to those agreements.

The dispute arose when Mayweather openly labeled the event as an exhibition, a designation that clashes with the professional terms his team initially consented to. Mathur disclosed that the agreement was established through a sequence of professional commitments signed on three distinct dates spanning from October to December 2025.

Mathur stated, “Floyd signed three separate agreements on different dates with various parties.” “He received payment for all of them, and he’s also taken an advance on the Pacquiao fight.”

Mathur emphasized that these were not casual conversations. He highlighted strong digital verification to support his assertions that Mayweather was completely aware of the professional requirements. “His team has secured all the contracts.” He executed all the contracts. We possess the DocuSign proofs along with wet signatures, including his device ID and IP address, with all necessary details included.

The financial challenges extend beyond that point. Mathur noted that Mayweather’s interest in additional exhibition matches, including a scheduled June event with Mike Zambidis, adds complexity to his commitments regarding the Pacquiao fight. The Pacquiao camp has issued an ultimatum due to the combination of accepting advance money for a professional contest while reportedly preparing for conflicting exhibition commitments.

“At this moment, the fight remains scheduled.” Mathur informed ESPN that there is no termination of any kind, and he has signed for a professional fight. Floyd Mayweather has officially violated his contract.

The promoter is seeking written confirmation regarding Mayweather’s intention to adhere to the professional terms of the signed agreement, leaving the future of the match in question.

Although Mayweather has privately indicated to certain individuals that the situation is manageable, the Pacquiao team remains resolute, asserting that their fighter is entitled to the genuine professional match he was guaranteed.
