Tiger Woods was found with hydrocodone pills in his possession during the crash that resulted in his DUI arrest
According to a newly released affidavit, two hydrocodone pills were found in Tiger Woods’ pocket when deputies arrested him following a crash in Florida.
The pills identified as M367 were discovered during a search following Woods’ arrest on Friday in Martin County. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid utilized for pain management. The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Woods He informed the deputies that he had been focused on his phone and adjusting the radio when his vehicle collided with the trailer of a slower-moving truck, causing it to flip onto its side. He exited through the passenger door and remarked that he hadn’t noticed the truck had decelerated. There were no injuries reported. Officers promptly redirected their attention.
Deputy Tatiana Levenar reported that Woods exhibited “several signs of impairment,” highlighting that he was “sweating profusely.” She remarked, “Woods’ movement was sluggish and unhurried.”
He consented to a field sobriety test; however, deputies reported that he limped and stumbled while walking. In response to inquiries regarding his medical conditions, Woods stated, “He’s had over seven back surgeries and over twenty operations on his leg.”
Due to those injuries, certain aspects of the test were adjusted. Levenar described his eyes as “bloodshot and glassy,” noting that his pupils were “extremely dilated.” Woods refuted the claim of drinking, stating “None,” but acknowledged, “I take a few,” when questioned about prescriptions, mentioning he had taken medication earlier that morning.
Following several coordination exercises, the deputy noted her belief that “Woods’ normal faculties were impaired.” He was apprehended for driving under the influence. A subsequent breath test indicated a result of 0.000; however, Woods declined to take a urine test, resulting in an extra charge. He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic ER South for a short time, declined treatment, and then returned to jail before posting bond later that night.
A court appearance has been set for April 23.
