Elon Musk: Grok Complies With Local Laws And Has Produced No Illegal Images
Elon Musk denies accusations made against Grok, stating that the AI does not produce any unlawful photos and fully conforms with all international regulations.
Elon Musk has denied allegations that Grok, xAI’s AI chatbot, has created illicit photographs of children, stating that he is not aware of any such material ever being created.
The software tycoon publicly addressed claims that were making the rounds online regarding Grok’s ability to create images in a post on X on Wednesday.
“There are absolutely no naked images of minors produced by Grok that I am aware of.” Musk penned.
“Obviously, Grok does not spontaneously generate images, it does so only according to user requests,” he added, emphasizing that Grok does not autonomously make graphics without human input.
Musk added that anytime users request photographs, the system is built to rigorously adhere to legal standards in all locations.
“Grok’s operating principle is to obey the laws of any given country or state, so when asked to generate images, it will refuse to produce anything illegal,” he stated.
Musk acknowledged the potential for abuse, pointing out that attempts to tamper with the system could sometimes result in unexpected consequences, but he insisted that such problems are promptly resolved.
Adversarial hacking of Grok prompts could occasionally have unanticipated effects. If that occurs, the bug is fixed right away.
Grok is included into X, formerly known as Twitter, and is created by Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI. The protections governing generative artificial intelligence tools and content moderation have drawn more attention to the site.
