Young Buck’s domestic abuse and gun case ends with community corrections instead of going to jail

Young Buck, a member of G-Unit, is making news again, but not because of his songs. He did, however, receive some positive news.

In a Sumner County case that has been dragging in the legal system for years, the Nashville rapper has reached a plea deal. The agreement resolves accusations related to a 2020 incident and cancels a trial that was set to start next week.

Buck’s trial was scheduled for January 12, 2026. This date came after a previous one in July 2024, when his lawyer asked for further time because of health concerns. According to court documents, Brown decided to settle the lawsuit through a negotiated plea rather than going to trial.

Brown entered a guilty plea to both a felony firearms charge related to the 2020 case and allegations of domestic abuse. Brown will not serve any time in prison as a result of the plea agreement. He was sentenced to eight years of community corrections, according to the sentencing paperwork. Additionally, he received pretrial prison credit for the period he spent in custody between April 7 and May 7, 2025.

There are several stipulations in the agreement. Brown has sixty days to finish an alcohol and drug evaluation and adhere to all necessary treatment guidelines. Additionally, he is prohibited from having any violent contact with Lucresia Neal, who was allegedly involved in the shooting incident in 2020.

Regular reporting to Sumner County Community Corrections and forfeiting all seized property, including the handgun involved in the case, are additional obligations. There may be additional sanctions, such as jail time, for noncompliance.
