Eddie Hearn: Anthony Joshua needs time to recover after friends pass away

Eddie Hearn claims that while Anthony Joshua heals both physically and emotionally, he will not make snap judgments about boxing.

Given that two close friends lost their lives in a vehicle accident in Nigeria last month, promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that he will not pressure Anthony Joshua into making decisions regarding his boxing career.

Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, two of Joshua’s pals, perished in a collision close to Lagos on December 29. Although present in the vehicle at the time, the British heavyweight was not seriously hurt.

On Thursday, Joshua honored his pals on Instagram, but Hearn has also discussed the fighter’s current circumstances and emphasized that boxing is not a top concern.

“I’ve had people call me since the accident to ask, ‘What’s the latest?'” In actuality, Hearn stated on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube page, “This is not the time for updates or careers.”

Anthony needs to have faith, pray, and get better throughout this time. You need to give him time in terms of his physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. The future is of little importance to us.

“Obviously, we care about Anthony’s well-being and the well-being of his friends and family who are affected by this tragic incident as much as possible.”

Hearn also considered the influence Ghami and Ayodele had on Joshua’s life, characterizing them as much more than just members of his squad.

“Sina would simply turn on the lights in a room and say, ‘Come on!'” He was simply a tremendous source of energy. Latz is the same. A very profound person, a man of great faith and optimism. Hearn added, “And we will really miss them.”

The individuals in question had amazing networks of friends, large groups, and families. Although AJ’s team members are often discussed, they were obviously much more than that. Among them were some of his closest friends.
