Kamaru Usman expressed regret after disclosing a private conversation in which Anthony Joshua talked about losing two buddies in a vehicle accident.
After inadvertently revealing a private FaceTime discussion with British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, who was hospitalized after a car tragedy that claimed the lives of two close friends, UFC star Kamaru Usman has apologized in public.
After seeing what’s being written it’s quite heartbreaking. Being on camera that whole day in preparation for The AKO show, it completely slipped my mind that my conversation was recorded. I realized after and asked about it. I take full responsibility for not properly watching…

An emotional conversation between the two athletes was captured in the later-deleted video, in which Joshua described the incident that resulted in the deaths of Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami. Usman acknowledged that the post was published accidentally while getting ready for the AKO event and took full responsibility for not keeping the chat private.
Joshua disclosed the grief he experienced personally on the call, adding, “Yeah,
Of course, two of my buddies died.
Usman inquired, “They were in the front, the two people in the front seat?” in an attempt to get explanation. “No,” Joshua retorted, “like one was in front of him and one behind him, so those two
“Oh, on the right side, on the right side,” Usman interjected. Joshua answered, “Yeah, on the right side, both passed away, yeah.
“I see that as a sign of envy, yeah,” Usman remarked, considering the incident’s broader effects before continuing, “I know, we do not get to speak to you for the first time.” It’s a humorous method of moving things, I realize that, dude. We are grateful to God, man.
He said, “And it is crazy because, you know, obviously we deal with the haters, we deal with all of the bullshit each and every time,” in reference to the challenges that well-known athletes experience.
Usman went on to say, “You know, it’s terrible that it takes something so serious to realize how many people are watching you and the world.”
Joshua said in a low voice, “Oh, yeah, I know,” in response to the conversation. I’m aware of that.
After acknowledging the worldwide response to Joshua’s accident, he continued, “Hey, you scared the world, I will tell you that right now.” The entire world was frightened by you. When you are in a large group of people, that is how it appears.
After receiving criticism after the video went viral, Usman apologized separately, saying that revealing the call was an error and emphasizing that the discussion was intended to be kept confidential.
“After seeing what’s being written, it’s quite heartbreaking,” Usman wrote in a tweet on X on Thursday. I totally forgot that my chat was being filmed because I spent the entire day on camera getting ready for The AKO show. After realizing that, I inquired about it. I accept full responsibility for not paying close attention to the published footage and for not keeping my private conversation with my brother AJ hidden. Big L on me, SMH. I would never harm a buddy or brother in that way.
