The president of Tanzania offers a unique aircraft to transport Taifa Stars

Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the president of the United Republic of Tanzania, has given the players a special Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to travel to Morocco and return to Tanzania.

Gerson Msigwa, the Chief Government Spokesperson and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, stated that President Samia has supplied the aircraft that will carry the players, technical bench, and national leaders under the direction of Paul Makonda, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports. This is in recognition of the great respect the Stars have earned in this major African tournament, even though they were eliminated by hosts Morocco in the round of 16, which they never made it that far.

In addition to utilizing the aircraft, Msigwa’s statement states that President Samia has planned a luncheon event to be conducted on January 10, 2026, at the Magogoni State House in Dar es Salaam, with the intention of formally congratulating them and other athletes.

The flight is scheduled to take off from Dar es Salaam at 9:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026, and arrive in Rabat, Morocco, at 4:30 p.m. today. On January 7, 2026, it is scheduled to depart Rabat, Morocco, and arrive in Dar es Salaam at 2:00 p.m. at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
