Miley Cyrus Hints about Hannah Montana’s 20th Anniversary Project
The 33-year-old actress, who gained notoriety from 2006 to 2011 as the lead in the popular Disney comedy, recently got her iconic bangs chopped off and revealed that they are working hard on a special project to commemorate the milestone this year.
“You see the bangs,” she teased Variety while speaking on the red carpet at this weekend’s Palm Springs International Film Festival.
When asked to elaborate, she said slyly, “We’re working hard on ’em.”
Miley was present to accept the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for Dream As One, the music to Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Regarding the anniversary, the Flowers singer stated in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, “I want the fans to really feel seen.”
Additionally, she stated to TikTok Radio on SiriusXM: “I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today.” There really wouldn’t be this kind of me without Hannah.
Cyrus played Miley Stewart in the program, a teenage girl who lives a double life as well-known pop artist Hannah Montana. Miley is eager to embrace the role.
It’s amazing to think that I began as a character that I believed would be impossible to discard, she added. And now since I’ve become as much a part of everyone’s life as the character itself, when I enter a room, people perceive it as a feeling of nostalgia or something from your early years. It’s thrilling to be able to celebrate that.
Miley disclosed last year that she still has a great deal of affection for Hannah Montana, despite her original desire to shed her spotless image and move on from the character once the program finished.
Miley remarked, “A little bit of everything has changed, but at the same time, nothing has changed at all, I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana,” as she got her Disney Legend award.
This award is, in many ways, dedicated to Hannah and her devoted fan base, as well as to everyone who has helped me realize my dream. “This is the life,” to use the words of the legend herself.
For some time now, Miley has expressed interest in playing the role again.
