Algeria removes the governor of the central bank and appoints a deputy to take over
Salah Eddine Taleb, the governor of Algeria’s central bank, was fired, and Mouatassem Boudiaf, the deputy governor, was appointed acting governor, according to a presidential decree cited by state media on Sunday.
The dismissal had no explanation. In May 2022, Taleb took over as governor of the central bank.
