Thiago Silva has confirmed his move to FC Porto and is returning to Europe

Thiago Silva has signed a short-term deal with FC Porto until 2026, with an option to extend, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

According to a report shared on X by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is making his return to European football after finalizing a move to FC Porto.

The experienced centre back has entered into a short-term contract with the Portuguese giants and is anticipated to be instrumental in the club’s defensive strategy under the guidance of new head coach Francesco Farioli.

Romano noted that the decision received robust support from Porto president André Villas Boas, who stated: “Agreement signed on short-term deal for Thiago, new centre back for Farioli and strongly wanted by André Villas-Boas.”

According to the agreement, Thiago Silva will stay at FC Porto until June 2026, with the possibility of extending his contract for another year.
