Oil prices rise following the US interception of a Venezuelan oil tanker over the weekend
Oil prices rose on Monday during early Asian trading hours following the U.S. interception of a Venezuelan oil tanker over the weekend.
Officials informed Reuters on Sunday that the U.S. is also pursuing another tanker, which would mark the third such operation in less than two weeks if successful.
As of GMT 2323, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude increased by 34 cents, or 0.6%, reaching $56.86 per barrel.
