PEP Guardiola stops discussing about leaving Manchester City

Speculation about Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City grew as The Athletic revealed that the Spanish coach might depart at the end of the current campaign, with Enzo Maresca being floated as a possible replacement.

In a composed interview with the media on Friday, Guardiola responded to the reports. He declared, “I’m here,” reminding everyone that his contract expires in 2027. The 54-year-old stated that he is no longer bothered by the same questions that have followed him for years. He claims he is still totally dedicated to and content with his current position, with 18 months remaining on his contract.

When questioned further, Guardiola admitted that football is unpredictable but did not hint at an impending exit. He stated, “I won’t be forever, nobody is immortal,” emphasizing that he is just concerned with the here and now.

His priorities are clear for the time being: getting ready for the game against West Ham and then spending some quality time with his family. The City manager’s message is clear: although his focus remains squarely on the task at hand, future eventualities can wait.
